    Situation

We are unique in being a cME community owned and run organsiation that delivers Chartered Management Institute courses to volunteers, Trustees and staff in the communtiy and voluntary sector. We are also unique in the UK in working in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University who run adult learning teacher training courses on our premises (subject to numbers of students), where we build in extensive support including preliminary entry qualifications such as English level 3 for people qualified overseas, additional mentoring - in short we try to provide whatever it takes for individuals to progress to being teachers. The courses target learners from black and minority ethnic communities - although all three course that have run have brought together people from across a broad range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds and who would not otherwise have the opportunity and support. The majority of this work is unfunded.
