Situation

The shortage of mosquito nets and malara testing kits in Zambia. All children under the age of five and pregnant women, should be provided with mosquito nets but this is not the case, there is a massive shortfall particularly in the rural villages. The Butterfly Tree addresses this issue and provides, not only nets and testing kits, but educatonal workshops.

Solution

The Butterfly Tree provides additional mosquito nets and malaria testing kits. In areas of distribution our reports show that there are no new cases of malaria. The testing kits provide crucial early diagnose, so the patient can be treated correctly. The educational workshops improve understanding about the dangers of malaria, the importance of being tested and the essential use of mosquito nets.
