The Ackers is proposing to develop its Ackers Adventurous Tower which is a 20 metres high climbing tower that consists of 521 square metres of climbing wall over a variety of different texured surfaces including steady, challanging and steep. Houses 22 climbing lines, Various points to abseil from and a state of the art fan-descendor unit.

The Ackers is hoping that the Tower project will open up new opportunities and experiences for the users of The Ackers as well as the wider population whilst allowing them to gain new skills in a new and challanging sport. That it will increase access to and participation in sport for children of all ages. That it will help to combat such issues as anti-social behaviour, exclusion from sport and society and to help combat such issues as childhood obesity which is currently a major concern effecting todays population.
