Our Discovery Centre and exhibition were opened in 1990 on our unique site but now the building and displays are not looking at their best. The BIG IDEA is to raise the roof (literally) and install a mezanine floor to double our available area for a new educational exhibition/display, cafe and shop.

Situation
The design of the building makes the raising of the roof a relatively simple exercise and the mezanine floor can be built into the new upper structure or be free standing. We would also like to take this opportunity to improve the level of insulation and install wind generators (we have quite an exposed, windy site) as well as other devices to reduce our carbon footprint. The exhibition needs a complete re-vamp with more inter-active components and updated information.
