In a global climate of mutual distrust, enabling Middle Eastern students at universities in the UK to meet British families in their own homes for friendship and cultural exchange will encourage mutual understanding and appreciation.

Situation
HOST has been arranging one-off weekend homestays for international students since 1987. Visits are provided free of charge by volunteer hosts, but HOST has to charge an administration fee. We are aware that many students from the Middle East are deterred from applying because of this fee.
Solution
If we had funding to cover the administrative costs, we would be able to offer all the benefits of a home visit to students from these specific countries. This would encourage more students to apply, and would enable both students and their hosts to act as ambassadors for all that is good in their respective cultures.
