Prospect Hospice is currently seeking to raise almost £1m towards the launch of a brand new, home-based service, Prospect@Home, which will bring the care upon which our excellent reputation has been built into the homes of patients at the end of their lives.

    Situation

Prospect Hospice brings expert, compassionate care to the people of the community of Swindon, Marlborough and north-east Wiltshire. Currently, our care is delivered to patients through our ten-strong, community-based team of nurse specialists, in our fourteen-bed In patient Unit, and also in our Day Hospice, visited each week by patients who attend for symptom management, physiotherapy and complementary and creative therapies. With the strong backing of our local newspaper, the Swindon Advertiser, we launched an appeal in 2006 to raise funds to launch a new service which will bring our care to patients in our community who, studies and experience tell us, would often prefer to be at home during a crisis in their illness, or in the last days of thier lives. We are hopeful that we will soon have sufficient funds to launch the service early in 2007, but our need to raise the money to maintain this long-anticipated service will continue.
