Situation

Their is a lack of affordable activity for children from deprived communities especially those with a disability. DAZL uses dance and the arts as a tool to improve the children/ young people lives across Leeds. Finding accessible fun activities for children and young people in their own communities is challenging and DAZL focuses on reducing these barriers and the inequalities they face.

Solution

We will provide weekly accessible arts activities for children including those with a disability and ensure they get positive experiences through the arts. The program will reduce inequalities, breakdown barriers and provide opportunities and aspirations for the children whilst improving their confidence and self-esteem. There will also be support session for parents and volunteer opportunities throughout, without volunteers we as a charity could not support all the children and families we do.
