Children suffering with Arthritis and other movement limiting conditions really benefit from exercising in water heated to 33 degrees. At this level muscles relax, making movement easier. GAT is working to fund a new Hydrotherapy Centre to be used by children during the day & adults in the evening.

Situation

The Milestone School, at Longlevens, has a Hyrotherapy pool that was built over 30 years ago. Now considered ancient by modern standards it is incredibly expensive to maintain and to do so results in frequent closures. Together with the school and the Pied Piper Appeal, GAT is committed to raising funds for the construction of a new pool and then running it, outside school hours, to benefit the many adults in the County that need access to Hydrotherapy treatment.

Solution

The Milestone School cannot raise sufficient funds on their own. The local authority has refused financial support, due to their own budget shortfalls. Only by working alongside 3rd party stakeholders, such as GAT, can the project be delivered as we can attract a wider group of donors and sources of charitable funds.
