This campaign has now closed

Pegasus is well known regionally as an important centre of youth and community work, but can not continue to work and develop in its current home where the detroriation of the site has become crictical. A capital campaign has been desinged and embarked on. The deadline for raising the required funds is getting ever closer.... We have raised £4.6 million, and now need the final £1.7 million. We can not say have grateful we would be for your support.

    Situation

Pegasus is preparing a major programme of rebuilding and refurbishing work on its site to update and replace facilities for the youth, community and professional work that takes place. Present facilities are housed in a temporary building originally erected in the 1940s, now well past its 'use by' date and in need of uneconomical structural repair. Pegasus is preparing a major programme of rebuilding and refurbishing work on its site to update and replace facilities for the youth, community and professional work that takes place here. The theatre's rehearsal facilities, or studio, is fully booked and in use by our own Oxford Youth Theatre (OYT), adult drama group Platypus Theatre, community groups and professional companies. Development plans involve the demolition of the temporary building and adding a major extension to the existing theatre space, which will include a new rehearsal room opening onto a bio-diversity garden, changing rooms plus offices and a larger workshop offering improved facilities for in-house and professional set building. Front of house features will include a larger foyer and café bar creating a much needed social and cultural hub for the local community.
