Many of the poorest cities in the world are ports – places with the highest infant mortality, shortest life expectancy and lowest income. Mercy Ships docks in these ports deploying volunteer professionals to provide world class medical care to those without a National Health Service to turn to Our newest hospital ship is self-contained, equipped with its own water, power, skilled volunteers and medical supplies. In this way Mercy Ships can side-step some of the basic and intractable problems facing other aid agencies – lack of reliable power, water, personnel and ways to deliver supplies – and make a lasting difference
