Kids for Kids is working in villages in Darfur to help ensure that, when conflict ends, there is something left for people to return to. Many people in Darfur have left home to live in IDP camps – but millions have not and are continuing to struggle to survive in desperate conditions. You can help them by adopting a village – or more than one depending on the size of your donation.

Kids for Kids runs a range of long-term, self-sustainable projects identified by communities themselves. These include goat and donkey loans, training for paravets, animal vaccination programmes, water pumps, training for midwives, tree nurseries to combat desertification and even solar lanterns so children can do their homework after dark. By adopting a whole village, Kids for Kids will be able to implement a range of projects in that village by providing: goats and donkeys for 100 families or more; veterinary care for the whole village; health care in the form of trained midwives, first aid workers and donkey ambulances; a safe, close water supply; ploughs and seeds; a tree nursery; blankets and mosquito nets; and solar. During a visit earlier this year, a community leader told us that thirty families had returned to his village because they knew that Kids for Kids was there and they believed this gave the village the chance of a future.
