A long term sustainable way to meet and serve Africa's rural communities' legal needs. LWOB will build schools and train teachers to introduce civics lessons, laws, courts etc. to school children, preparing them to someday service their communities' legal needs as "home grown" parlegals and lawyers

    Situation

Lack of awareness, access to justice or legal service in rural regions throughout Africa and the world. At the same time many communities lack adequate school facilities. Helping to build or improve school facilities in particularly needy regions will anchor the start of the project and build the trust needed to launch and anchor the project in its early days.

    Solution

Current programming trains adults in the community to serve as "paralegals". This program will integrate training and awareness of law, legal rights, legal systems, conflict resolution as children in the hopes of training corps of individuals to grow up to step into the role of serving their community's legal needs. It is sustainable, and requires little if any international intervention over the long term.
