    Situation

In order to reach as many people as possible, the NSPCC has opened a Welsh helpline, an Asian helpline, a textphone service for the hearing impaired, an email service and also provides comprehensive web information. All calls are answered by qualified counsellors who assess the caller’s information. The Helpline works in partnership with Social Services and the Police, making an average of 185 referrals a week. When an investigation is launched we provide as detailed information as possible about the child’s background, needs and possible risks.
