    Situation

More than a quarter (27 per cent) of all rapes recorded by the police are committed against children under 16 years of age- halting this kind of abuse is a key part of the NSPCC’s strategy to end cruelty to children, FULL STOP. Our ten IEAS teams are at the forefront of our efforts, both in rescuing and helping the children involved, and identifying and bringing the perpetrators to justice. The NSPCC’s authorised status will put the organisation in a strong position to influence the outcomes for many children and, if necessary, undertake independent action to safeguard their welfare.
