A YPAG consists of a group of children and young people, or individuals, who may be potential, current or ex-users of the NSPCC service. They provide the NSPCC and other organisations with the opportunity to negotiate communication with children and young people on a national and local basis.

    Situation

Each group is supported by a facilitator who is also an employee of the NSPCC. These facilitators put a request for participation and/or consultation to the group who then choose whether they’d like to get involved. The YPAG facilitator’s main role is to support the group and ensure that they are able to make an informed choice about the task they are considering to undertake. YPAGs are a method of promoting communication between the NSPCC and children and young people. They help us to develop child-focused, culturally sensitive and accessible services and public policies that take their views into account.
