The Access Project helps motivated students from disadvantaged backgrounds win places at top universities in the UK. We believe that many disadvantaged students have the ability to access an excellent university education, but need extra support to compete with their more privileged peers.

Situation
There is nationwide need for this work. To give one statistic: children eligible for Free School Meals – the poorest 14 per cent – are seven times less likely to get into a Russell Group university than other children.
Solution
The Access Project selects its participating students when they enter Year 10, and provides them with a comprehensive programme and support through their last four years at school. In everything we do, we try to help the students become ‘rigorous thinkers’ who have the confidence and the aspiration to win places at top universities.
