    Situation

The purpose of this training development programme is to act as a transitionary stage between education / training and the profession, resulting in a pool of fully employable theatre practitioners to be retained in the region, instead of drifting to London. Large numbers of ‘graduates’ endeavour to enter the profession annually, many of them have neither the knowledge of the profession nor the skills to make it. We aim to support and encourage these to develop their career in the region.

    Solution

This is a unique training programme covering four main areas of theatre practice. It runs over 44 weeks, is fully mentored and includes an active placement with one or more professional theatre companies, in the Northern region and throughout Britain. Trainees also have the opportunity to increase their skills base through master classes with a range of internationally renowned practitioners and produce an ensemble production to showcase their talents to agents / future employers in the region.
