In a world of information overload people with a learning difficulty find that most information does not make sense, is not in a form they can understand or is not available when they need it. Websites are often confusing and too wordy. Lots of information that people with learning difficulties need is hidden away in huge documents. How do you decide what care you need, where to look for a job or how to find a place to live if you cannot find or read any information about it?
Solution
Click Start is an accessible website model. Designed with people with learning difficulties it has a simple format and uses images, sounds, video and easy to understand text to provide information. We have recruited 3 people with learning difficulties to make websites for other local organisations. They will market the concept, develop the websites and deliver the finished product. The websites will include information on education, work, leisure, care and support.
