Our summer 2010 production will be the first performances since 1800 of an opera based on Beaumarchais' scandalous Marriage of Figaro - not by Mozart but by Marcos Portugal, the leading late 18th century Portuguese opera composer. This builds on our unique reputation for the most unusual repertory

    Situation

Over the years we have discovered a real cultural thirst amongst the public for opening up musical repertory, as well as performing in rural venues - reaching the parts other opera companies fail to reach!

    Solution

We keep discovering wonderful and intriguing new operas from the 18thC and breathe new life into them. We perform for local communities in rural venues in Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire, as well as in London, and through reasonable ticket prices we avoid the elitism so often associated with the genre. Our performances of Marcos Portugal's scintillating Marriage of Figaro continue to build our unparalleled reputation.
