    Situation

Mental ill health is recognised as an increasing problem in our ex-service men and women. Gul, an Outdoor Therapy Centre, has group programmes for veterans designed to help physical health and fitness, emotional recovery and a safe return to civilian life. Programmes are delivered using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Outdoor Activities. Gul expects to see a return to social function and increased health for each veteran attending. These soft outcomes will be measured using HAD score and WHO wellbeing scoring. Because of their situation, many veterans are not in good employment and cannot afford to attend Gul. These ten bursaries will allow veterans to have £400 worth of activities at Gul, either a full week's course including residential, 5 weeks for a day a week, or a term of a half a day per week.
