    Situation

Young people we work with feel they get a bad press, which is often over-stated. They want to produce programming to be broadcast on LINK FM that will portray them in a more positive light to what they perceive to be the norm in other media. They particularly want to attract older people to the project, and involve them in devising and taking part in programming that will break down stereotypes and age barriers. At the end of the project, the young people will have built up a library of 'Young Voices' programmes that can be repeated at different times of the day/week to ensure maximum audience coverage. Approximately 40 young people will be involved (14-18 year olds). Project staff costs (1 year) Training young people in all aspects of studio operation - researching, writing, recording, editing, production, live broadcasting. Support for their ideas and generating interesting contacts to take part in programmes £25,000 Consumables & office costs £5,000 Total for one year £30,000
