    Situation

SAMH produces The Point magazine, a quarterly publication that provides an alternative voice on mental health. The Point provides a voice for people and/or views that might not otherwise be heard. Articles in The Point are written in a style that is accessible to people who might not be familiar with mental health policy or jargon, and is intended to be of interest to a wide audience. It does not shy away from confronting difficult or divisive topics but does not aim for controversy for controversy’s sake. The Point will consider contributions from anyone, whether they are a mental health professional, person with experience of mental health problems or someone with no prior involvement in the subject, as long as they have something interesting to say. The Point is the only magazine of its kind in Scotland. Given that one in four of us are likely to experience a mental health problem at some point in our lives, SAMH feels there is significant value in a publication that tries to make the topic relevant and interesting to a general audience. It aims to raise awareness about positive mental health and about mental health problems in a way that is both engaging and enjoyable. This project costs £10,000 per year or £2,500 per magazine. We are happy to receive part sponsorship for each magazine and can discuss advertising rates. Any donation size is welcome. If you would like to write an article for the Point we would love to hear from you!
