    Situation

As a result of a community-based research programme we discovered a poor level of health, a lack of knowledge about hygiene and minimal access to basic health facilities in the two areas in which Tamwed works. We have responded by supporting the training of 20 women as community health workers and have helped to set up a homeopathic clinic with a doctor who also acts as a trainer. During 2009 we will be supporting these workers with further training, teaching aids and campaign material to add value to their role. Our partner NGOs will be monitoring the impact of this programme with a view to expanding it in future years. This programme costs £6,280 over 12 months.
