Situation
The Resource Centre will encorporate space for self-help groups to meet, share experiences with other groups, access online information, use art/craft room facitlities, small gym, network and have an address to access funds to develop their own services. To employ two part time project workers to manage and develop the centre who have direct or indirect experience of mental distress. The Resource Centre will be developed in Stevenage, an area with few facilities for small groups to run, low level of mental health support services and high level of deprivation and need. It is estimated that to establish and run the Resource Centre and pay for two project workers on a part time basis the costs will be approximately: £50,000 p.a.
