    Situation

Jigsaw aims to: reduce the adverse effects of crime on victims of sexual exploitation, vindicate clients by encouraging them to report crimes through to court and to convict perpetrators, reduce vulnerability to the risk of drug & alcohol abuse, raise the awareness of the risks to sexual exploitation through controlling relationships, raise the awareness of the ‘grooming process’ being established and break the cycle of abuse. Through the worker spending quality one-to-one time with a client it is evident that self-worth and confidence develop and a belief system is established in the client knowing they are a significant person with something positive to contribute to society. Sessions offer advice and support in relation to personal circumstances with the main focus being healthy/unhealthy relationships and controlling situations. Sessions provide practical and emotional support for specific needs. Clients are also supported in police & court procedures. Workshops focus on areas such as self-esteem and confidence building in a fun and confidential environment. Issues dealt with include awareness raising, feelings and relationships, whilst activities to address these include creative skills, hair & beauty, cooking and poetry. All workshops are skills, education or character developmental based and use a variety of methods.
