Solomon promotes safety awareness and good decision making in respect of healthy relationships. Young people are educated in recognising potential risks in respect of perpetrators, abusive relationships, paedophilia and internet grooming. Solomon also challenges incorrect attitudes towards the opposite sex thereby raising awareness of their own vulnerability to commit crime.

    Situation

    Solomon mostly takes place during lesson time in the academic year in secondary schools within the borough of Walsall. The project is aimed at young people aged 11 – 14 also within support units, hostels and youth clubs. The presentation can be adapted from 20mins to 1 hour in duration. This is an interactive sessions where the young people take part in a quiz, discussion and voting on aspects of staying safe. Subjects covered are internet safety, inappropriate relationships, bullying, grooming, making the right decisions and setting boundaries. Training is also available to professinals and the wider community.
