Situation
Our fourth MediCinema will open early 2011 at the South Gwent Children Centre, Wales. The Centre is for children and young adults with disabilities, such as Spina Bifida, Cystic Fibrosis, Down Syndrome and Asperger’s Syndrome. Everyone’s lives have been touched by the magic that is cinema and yet for these children, this is out of their reach. For most of them, their lives are spent in wheelchairs – they rarely have the opportunity to go to the cinema with their families.
Solution
We aim to change this by installing a MediCinema at the Centre with eighteen wheelchair spaces and fifty-six seats for the ambulatory children, their families and friends.
