The Community Advocacy Support team practical and emotional support to women experiencing domestic violence within the local community. Through their work, the Community Advocacy Team has encountered women who are in serious financial difficulty, as a result of financial abuse, expressing concern about finding money to pay for food for their families. For women, all the problems and effects of domestic violence that they encounter makes overcoming the abuse seem insurmountable.

Women experiencing domestic violence are left feeling confused, anxious and fearful – often not knowing how to escape the situation and re-build their lives. Support and advice is given to help women devise safety plans, progress housing applications and take cases though the criminal justice system. Within emergency situations, the Community Advocacy Team could provide women with food parcels, whilst they access continued support to rebuild thier lives.
