    Situation

The Haven Wolverhampton is seeking to secure funding through a restoration project to maintain quality standard accommodation across its 5 Hostels in Wolverhampton for vulnerable women and children who have escaped Domestic Violence and Homelessness. All of the Hostel bed-rooms have en-suite facilities the Lounges, Laundry areas, Kitchens, Dining rooms, Children and Young Peoples rooms, Play and Computer rooms are communal areas. Because of high turnover, (over 400 families per year) :- wear and tear on the properties shows quite quickly, things get broken, go missing/disappear, accidental damage, décor deterioration and emergency repairs puts a great strain on our already limited resources. However all these areas require immediate attention in order to offer equality to all those women and children accessing our services. Regular internal, external and cyclical maintenance remains high priority to sustain our quality provision. For this reason we continue to strive to seek support funding to enable, preserve and sustain this vital accommodation facility and investment for women and children within our city. On arrival at The Haven women are in a severe traumatic state, having experienced physical, emotional and psychological abuse, their children are extremely confused, frightened, untrusting individuals. They require unique sensitivity: - a safe, secure, clean, peaceful living space which is important for the dignity and respect deserved by those who are forced to leave their homes as well as additional support services to help them through their devastating experiences. We invite you from a Social Responsibility level to share in the work we do for women and children escaping Domestic Violence and Homelessness.
