Situation
Increased social isolation, divisions within communities, lack of affordable and readily available access to physical, cultural and creative activities are all contributing to modern day problems of obesity, mental ill-health and lack of cohesion in our communities.
Solution
By creating a fit for purpose community venue offering affordable space for community groups we hope to create a safe, welcoming place where people of all ages can come together, take part in physical activities, stay healthy and have fun. Part of these plans involves creating a 'silver gym' and community cafe within the building where people of all ages can meet and exchange ideas and feel part of, and have a say in their local community.
