On 3 July 1938, the world speed steam record of 126mph was achieved by LNER A4 Class Pacific Mallard. In 2013 we will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of this amazing milestone for British engineering by reuniting the six surviving A4 Pacific Class locos for the first time in over half a century.

    Situation

Mallard represents the culmination of British high-speed steam locomotive development and success, which has not been beaten to this day. Reuniting the loco with its sisters from around the world is something we have worked hard to achieve: a family reunion on an international scale.

    Solution

Your support will help us set the stage for a spectacular series of events to ensure this significant anniversary receives the attention it deserves. We will provide three memorable opportunities to see the record breaker united with its five surviving sister locomotives.
