Situation
Many older people, particularly those who live alone, experience isolation and loneliness which can often result in depression and a sense of hopelessness. They may also suffer from an acute lack of exercise and mental stimulation and experience a significant reduction in self confidence - all of which contribute to a poor quality of life. This can lead to acute mental and physical deterioration and curtail older people’s ability to live independently
Solution
This project will encourage people to spend quality time together boosting confidence, making new friendships and reducing loneliness and isolation. Interactive comedy sessions can increase social inclusion and boost self confidence. They will encourage older people to become actively involved in comedy games and role play, supported by a comedy trainer/professional comedians in a relaxed and welcoming environment, sharing in fun and laughter and having a forum to explore issues through comedy
