This project aims to provide improved educational opportunities to children from pastoralist communities living in the remote districts of Laikipia and Turkana in Northern and Western Kenya.
It ran from 12:00 AM, 1 January 2012 to 12:00 AM, 1 January 2015
Registered Charity in England and Wales (1082476)
Over the past ten years, the pastoralist communities in these areas have become increasingly vulnerable to drought and famine as a result of climate change and increasing pressure of population in the highland areas and savannah belt. Children in these remote areas suffer poor access to education and low quality educational facilities
This project aims to address the declining prospects of traditional agriculture and pastoralism, by giving children and young people access to improved educational facilities so that they can develop skills for alternative livelihoods.
