Situation
The current flooding in Pakistan is affecting more than 2.5 million people so far. The need is huge, and we must act quickly. Tens of thousands of people are injured and homeless. And floods are an ideal breeding ground for water-borne diseases such as cholera.
Solution
Staff from Tearfund partners are distributing food and other essential items to the most vulnerable families. We’re also working to avert further disaster by ensuring as many villages as possible downstream – yet to be hit by flood waters – are better prepared. Our work with affected communities will continue into the future, helping them recover, rebuild homes and livelihoods and prepare for future crises.
