We want to take five successful entrepreneurs from the UK to visit fledgling entrepreneurs in Africa, and then a reverse trip: bringing five African entrepreneurs to the UK for a short visit.

Five Talents supports entrepreneurs in Africa through microfinance: business training, savings and small loans to help people to start or expand small businesses. This will be a fabulous opportunity to experience the challenges of business in each culture and circumstance. There will be cross-cultural issues to overcome, substantial differences in market economies and infrastructure to appreciate. We hope the “buddies” will learn from one another, encourage and inspire one another – as each encounters another world. We do not want this to be a patronising, one-way affair, but rather a mutually enriching exchange. Five Talents will manage the trip and carefully select the African and UK entrepreneurs. Five Talents works in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Sudan – from which the businesses will be selected.
