    Situation

    Acholi Districts in Nothern have suffered in the past 20 years of insurgency between the Lord’s Resistance Army rebels and the Government of Uganda, with mass (90 – 95%) population displacement. Because of this and other factors, income inequality has persisted in the region, momen most affected. However, they are left with the burden of looking after orphans with no income to support them and most family homes and livelihood have been destroyed as a result of the long period of war.

    Solution

    a. Empower women, Increased sustainability for vegetables growing, Better recognition, improved image & increased potential to mobilize resources and aligned to national and regional development goals b. Improving standard of living, nutrition, increasing their income and ability to settle their children in good education schools and support those infected with HIV/AIDS living within the community. c. Enable them to contribute effectively to women's development projects within their society.
