    Situation

Thousands of children and young people in Zambia loose their parents to HIV/Aids every year. In addition to the huge emotional and psychological impacts this can have are the practical challenges they face – like finding somewhere to live, paying for food and funding themselves through education. Through our local partnerships, we currently fund 35 orphans and vulnerable children in Lubushi, a rural town in northern Zambia, giving them the chance to fulfil their potential through secondary education. We have a long term commitment to these children, many of whom have to live away from their village in the provincial capital Kasama during term time. We support them through school fees and boarding fees where necessary, and indirect costs of schooling such as books and uniforms. We are looking for a minimum three year commitment of funding for this project, at approximately £3750 per year (total £11250). Please contact zoauk@hotmail.co.uk for further details.
