To improve the experience of in-patients and day therapy patients by refitting and refurbishing the two large assisted bathrooms at the bedded hospice in Northfleet. New sanitaryware, flooring and lifting equipment will be installed and redecoration will complete the project.

Situation
EllenorLions Hospices provides all-encompassing hospice care at the hospice, in the home and within the hospital setting. As part of this service the hospice unit offers in-patient and day therapy care to patients with serious illnesses and offering safe, assisted and dignified bathing facilities is part of this delivery. The hospice at Northfleet was opened in 1992 and to date the large assisted bathrooms have not been properly up-dated.
Solution
To meet this need we must strip the two rooms and replace the old bathroom furniture and fittings with high-grade purpose built suites, which comply with the relevant health and safety regulations set out for hospices. State of the art lifting equipment will be installed, which will enable safe and dignified patient transfer. Decoration and replacement flooring will also comply with the relevant laws. The aim will be to offer a 'home from home' environment and improve the patient experience.
