There is a crisis population of unwanted parrots. The time has come when we need to relocate and build a sanctuary …… to put into place a large parrot rescue, rehabilitation, education and awareness facility for us to continue and expand our valuable work and help more needy parrots today and those of tomorrow. NLPR has £30,000 in its Relocation Funding Appeal pot but we are looking to accumulate further financial injections from interested donors, as we must complete this project by 2010 for the sake of furthering NLPR’s objects. NLPR has a detailed business plan for its Relocation Appeal and is available upon request.

    Situation

NLPR, over a decade of dedicated work, has received many neglected birds, some with physical and psychological problems. Feather plucking, flesh mutilation, muscle atrophy, infections, injuries and butchered wings are some of the problems we have lovingly cared for. Due to their longevity, high intelligence, strong social needs, and the fact this is not in the public eye, NLPR is struggling to keep pace with the demands placed upon its services. The clock is ticking whilst NLPR rescued birds and those of today and the future wait in the wings.
