Situation
Violent conflict, political instability, debilitating drought, and high food prices have led Somalia/Somaliland into one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world. The long list of deadly problems in the region includes high rates of child malnutrition, maternal mortality, and outbreaks of preventable disease.
Solution
In Somaliland, Medair works to improve access to life-saving nutrition services, as well as providing basic health services, clean water, proper sanitation, and emergency responses as needed. The main programme provides nutrition to malnourished children under the age of five, as well as health and WASH activities in the most vulnerable camps and settlements in and around Burao Town .
