Situation
Too many people are suffering because they are too hard to reach. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, ongoing conflict has now displaced over 400,000 people. Deadly diseases like cholera, malaria and measles are playing out against a background of chronic underdevelopment. Many isolated communities are only accessible on foot due to weak bridges and impassable roads - some communities have received no assistance for 13 years. Isolated communities and their urgent needs risk being forgotten.
Solution
Medair is providing free access to vital health services for displaced populations, responding to disease outbreaks, constructing bridges and re-opening roads for improved humanitarian access to the most vulnerable people. Medair brings life-saving relief to the hardest to reach people, wherever they live, whatever it takes.
