With a wealth of in-house expertise, the World Land Trust's Restoration Ecology Team work with project partners worldwide to use funding for avoided deforestation projects, as well as reforestation. With a commitment to plant over 500,000 trees by the end of 2009, the WLT is a leader in this field. Avoided deforestation and reforestation is closely monitored, and the WLT's team can also calculate the carbon saved, as well as calculate the carbon footprints of businesses and individuals.
