    Situation

Gateshead currently has very little supported accommodation. Aquila Way already runs a project specifically for vulnerable young women. However there are many vulnerable young men who don't have access to appropriate accommodation and the support they need to build positives futures for themselves. Many may be care leavers or previous young offenders. We want to provide a safe place for them to develop the skills and confidence they need to be able to apply for their own tenancy and successfully maintain it and care for themselves. We know of young men who have been sleeping in the backs of cars and even in trees for periods of time because they have nowhere to go and we want to make sure this does not continue to happen in future. We would like to talk to anyone interested in providing capital investment in the project. We would like to develop a new build secure project with 8 individual, en-suite rooms to provide for 8 residents at a time, and including a gym facility within the project. If you would like to be involved in supporting this please get in touch with us.
