Situation
Local education and welfare services are often unable to provide intensive one to one speech and language therapy on a regular basis, and within an evironment specifcally resourced for the needs of young deaf children. This stems not only from a lack of funds but also a lack of expertise
Solution
This project will provide regular (weekly) support to children in need, within a setting which has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of deaf children and their families, and the aims of the programme. The Elizabeth Foundation implemented a trial speech and language programme in 2010, alongside its classroom based education, with immense success
