    Situation

This project is more than just an event. Each school signing up to the project is sent a resource pack to help them prepare and build up to the event, including lesson plans and music for all the songs in the programme so that the children can be familiar with them and feel able to join in. Every participating school also gets the opportunity to audition for the vast gathered choir of 600 voices which puts in the extra time in advance to rehearse the songs so that at the event they fill the choir stalls behind the Orchestra and take an active part in helping the rest of the audience to join in the songs. Schools also receive a visit from ASO musicians, who show them their instruments and help to get the children excited about coming to the concert. All this in the build up to a fantasically creative evening at a unique venue - listening to a full symphony orchestra &a vast choir, singing along with 3000 other children, enjoying the colourful lighting and creative pyrotechnics and fun! We aim to cover all the costs of these (including the hire of this historic venue) through sponsorship and donation so that no school or child should be excluded through lack of funds.
