Situation
The Pre-Schools highest priority is to build a room to support the specialist needs and development of its children and families. A multi-use accessible space, carefully detailed would enable us to; Support children with special educational needs (SEN) Enable assessment by multi agency professionals. Offer one-to-one support for children and families. Encourage and develop the personal skills of parents, the wider community and satff. Be a stimulating 'drop in room' for social interaction and discussions. Create a sensory experience. To achieve the above aspirations the room would have IT data points and interactive whiteboard. A kitchenette facility which can be secured (Shutter) within room. Contrast flooring zones for wet play, carpet zone and eurythmic floor (heavy impairment support and assessment). Accessible toilet and baby changing facility. Induction loop installed for Hearing impaired support. Blackout quality blinds to windows and glazed doors for visual impairment support and assessment. A linked canopy and soft surfacing externally for sheltered play and assessment
