Situation
Following the withdrawal of core funding by the Arts Council in April 2008, Norwich Puppet Theatre has continued to trade with funding from Norwich Town Close Estate Charity, Norfolk County Council, Norwich City Council and a transitional grant from ACEEast. Support towards 2009/10 has already been secured from Geoffrey Watling, Garfield Weston, Norwich Town Close and John Jarrold Trusts however additional funding of £25,000 is being sort to cover the basic running costs of the venue (based in a purpose converted Grade 1 listed Medieval church) and administration salaries. With secured core funding the Theatre will be able to concentrate fundraising activities to support projects such as new productions, puppet making workshops with schools and other community groups.
