    Situation

Norwich Puppet Theatre is housed in the purpose converted Grade I listed church of St James'. Since the opening in 1980 the main auditorium of has largely stayed the same. The aim of this project is to make attending, and performing at, the Theatre a more pleasurable experience for all. This will involve a complete refurbishment of the main auditorium including: replacing the existing second hand cinema seating with new seats giving additional leg room as well as comfort; upgrading the heating/ventilation system to provide constant temperature throughout the year; rebuilding the lighting grid to enable easy and safer access to lighting; upgrading the sound/light box at the rear of the auditorium (instead of stage left); plus installing a second disabled accessible toilet near the Octagon Studio and installing a hearing loop in the Studio and Box Office areas.
