    Situation

The cultural sector has a major role to play in ensuring that the lives of young people are fulfilling, enjoyable and helping them to achieve their potential. There are few performance opportunities for young people in the south west of England and giving them the chance to perform at arguably the most well known and succesful educational project in the country is a source of massive inspiration. Eden's ability to act as a catalyst for this work helps support young and emerging artists.

    Solution

This is not simply a competition with a one day event at Eden but a programme that provides ongoing support for young people and grass-roots community contacts. Bright Young Things helps to build the confidence and self-esteem of young people who participate. It builds the capacity of young people to make positive choices for the future.
