    Situation

Through Learning 4 Life, disadvantaged and sometimes highly challenging young people and women inprove their basic skills, financial literacy, and practical independent living skills. As a result, their confidence, self esteem and motivation increases, as does their desire to provide for themselves and achieve stability and happiness in their lives. We offer the opportunity to gain OCN accredited awards, and support learners to gain skills which will help them to access the mainstream workplace or training placements. Most of our learners have to overcome many barriers to learning, such as literacy problems, social exclusion, poor confidence, and ongoing support needs such as substance misuse, offending and antisocial behaviour. Some of our learners also have to contend with mental ill health or learning difficulties. Almost all of them are NEET (not in education, employment or training). Learning 4 Life supports our learners to overcome these barriers, to achieve goals and to move their lives forward through work, training or education.
